Professor Zhao Jinsong received his PhD from Tsinghua University in 1997. He has worked as full professor in the department of chemical engineering at Tsinghua University since April, 2008. Prior to that he worked at Beijing University of Chemical Technology as a full professor from 2005 to 2008 and at Applied Extrusion Technology (AET) Incorporation (U.S.A.) as a senior MES Engineer from 2001 to 2005. Before he joined AET, he was a senior knowledge engineer at Day & Zimmermann International Corporation (U.S.A.) and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Purdue University from 1997 to 2001. His current research interests include chemical process safety, fault diagnosis, big data and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. He serves in editorial boards of the international journals Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering, Computers & Chemical Engineering, and Process Safety and Environmental Protection. He has also been elected as the chairman of the Engineering Ethics Education Work Committee of the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China as well as the vice chairman of the Process Systems Engineering Committee of the Systems Engineering Society of China.
