Dr. Binhang Yan is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University. He obtained his B.Sc. in 2008 and Ph.D. in 2013, both from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University. From 2015 to 2017, he served as a postdoctoral researcher in the Chemistry Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory. In September 2017, he joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in December 2020. His research interests include developing efficient catalysts using high-throughput methods, identifying catalytic active sites, understanding reaction mechanisms, and tuning product selectivity through combined flow reactor studies with in-situ characterization techniques. He has published over 130 SCI-indexed papers and has been granted more than 20 patents, with 6 patents licensed. He has received several awards, including the First Prize of Natural Science Award awarded by the Ministry of Education of China, the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award awarded by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF), and the Youth Award of Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Awards awarded by the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC).
