Dr. Zhihong Yuan joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University as an Associate professor in September, 2016. Prior to joining Tsinghua, he has worked as postdoctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University and Auburn University, subsequently. Promoted by smart manufacturing and clean energy manufacturing, Dr Zhihong Yuan's research is concentrated on Advanced decision-making for complex chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, big data and surrogate model, machine learning and value-added chemicals discovery, optimization and control under uncertainty. As a first-author/corresponding author, Dr Zhihong Yuan has published more than 60 papers in many high impact international journals such as three flagship journals in traditional chemical engineering including AIChE Journal, Chemical Engineering Science, and Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research. Till now, one of his papers has been featured on the cover of AIChE Journal; one paper has been selected as the ACS Editors' Choice Paper.
