WANG Tiefeng

Research Direction: Selective hydrogenation and catalytic conversion of biomassbased platform compounds to high value-added chemicals

Prof. WANG Tiefeng received his Ph.D. (ChE) from Tsinghua University in 2004. He has worked in the department since 2004, and was promoted to full professor in 2014. His research focuses on clean energy chemical engineering, multiphase flow reactor and eterogeneous catalysis. He has studied the partial oxidation process and designed the largest-scale reactor for this process. He has developed the CFD-PBM coupled model for slurry reactor, and realized the industrial applications of slurry reactor technology. He has focused on selective hydrogenation and catalytic conversion of biomassbased platform compounds to high value-added chemicals. He teaches Chemical Reaction Engineering to the undergraduate students and Applied Mathematical Analysis in Chemical Engineering to the graduate students. He has published over 220 papers and filed ~40 patens. He has been awarded as Ten Thousands Talents Plan, Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University, National Top 100 PhD Award, Petrochemical Association Sci. & Technol. Advance Award, and Non-Ferrous Metal Industry Sci. & Technol. Award.
