LIU Zhendong

LIU Zhendong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University, where he currently serves as Assistant to the Department Chair for International Affairs. He received his B.Eng. from Shandong University, his M.Eng. from Tsinghua University, and his Ph.D. in Chemical System Engineering from the University of Tokyo. Prior to joining Tsinghua, he held an assistant professorship at The University of Tokyo. His research lies at the interface of porous materials, catalysis, and microchemical engineering. His group is especially interested in low-dimensional zeolites, zeolite-encapsulated metal nanoclusters, and diffusion phenomena under nanoscale confinement. Professor Liu has published more than 60 research papers in leading journals, including PNAS, Science Advances, Journal of the American Chemical Society, and Angewandte Chemie International Edition. His contributions have been recognized by several honors and awards, including School of Engineering Dean’s Award for Research Excellence from The University of Tokyo, Reaction Chemistry & Engineering Emerging Investigator distinction, and teaching and advising awards from Tsinghua University
