Professor CHEN Zhen received his Bachelor and Master degree from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University in 2005 and 2008. He got his Ph.D. from Hamburg University of Technology, Germany in 2012. He worked as Postdoc in the Institute of Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering in Hamburg University of Technology from July 2013 until August 2013. Since August 2013, he has become assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University. His research interests focus on the development and application of industrial biotechnology for the production of natural and non-natural chemicals, metabolic engineering for industrial stain development, systems biology and synthetic biology, protein design. He has published more than 40 papers and 20 patents.
