Dr. LIU Zhendong received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, both in Chemical Engineering, from Shandong University (2005) and Tsinghua University (2012), respectively. He then moved to Japan and obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical System Engineering from The University of Tokyo in 2015. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher in UTokyo (with Prof. Tatsuya Okubo) and University of Minnesota at Twin Cities (with Profs. Michael Tsapatsis and Andreas Stein) from 2015 to 2017. Prior to joining Department of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University in June 2021, Dr. Liu held an assistant professor position in Department of Chemical System Engineering at UTokyo. Dr. Liu was selected as a winner of the Overseas Young Talents Project of China. His research interests include functional porous materials and microchemical engineering system. Dr. Liu has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals of the fields such as PNAS and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. He has been recognized by several awards including Best Master Thesis Award from Tsinghua University and Dean’s Award for Research from the School of Engineering of UTokyo.
