Professor WANG Yundong received Ph.D.from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UK) in 1991. He has worked in the department since 1994, becoming professor of chemical engineering in 2002. Prior to that he worked at Petrochemical Research Institute, Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences as a research assistant and at the School of Chemical Engineering, the University of Bath, England as a postdoctoral research officer and research officer. His research specializes in the field of chemical engineering. Work is directed at fluid flow stirred reactors and extraction columns via advanced measuring techniques and computational fluid dynamic (CFD) modelling. Current research projects involve design modelling, optimization and process intensification of novel extraction equipment for rare earth metals separation. He published over 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
