Professor KAN Chengyou graduated from Shandong University with a B.Sc. degree and a M.Sc. degree in 1982and 1987, respectively. He received Ph.D. at the Beijing University of Chemical Technologies in 1999. He worked in CNTC from1982 to 1984, and in Shandong University from 1987 to1996. He has worked in the department since 2001 after two-year postdoctoral training at Tsinghua University, becoming full professor in 2006. He worked as a visiting professor at University of Alberta, Canada during 2003 to 2004. His research interests include fine and functional polymer materials, and closely collaborations have been established between his Lab and international/domestic distinguished companies, and a number of new technologies have been industrialized these years. His research work mainly focus on emulsion polymerization; polymeric and organic-inorganic composite microspheres; waterborne polymer products (coatings, paints, inks, adhesives and etc) and silicone materials.
