JIANG Guoqiang

Research Direction: Gut microbiota reconstruction by natural products and its biomedical function

Dr. JIANG Guo-qiang received his B.Sc. and Ph. D. in chemical engineering at Dept of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University in 2001and 2005, respectively. He worked in the department since 2007 and became an associate professor in 2008. His research interests involve: i) Gut microbiota reconstruction by natural products and its biomedical function; ii) multiphase reactor and its applications to the biochemical processes and CO2 mineralization process enhancement. Researches in his group have been supported by National Natural Science Foundation and industrial grants. He won a Science and Technology Progress Award (2010) by the Ministry of Education. He teaches the course Principles of Chemical Engineering for undergraduate students.

Industrial Applications

Patent applications: lipid oxidation using air-lift loop reactor to produce the food flavoring. Applied in eight companies. 2008-2012.

Industrial project: Reactor for liquid phase hydrocracking of fuel oil (200 kt/a), Shandong Yuhuang chemical (group) Co., Ltd. Shandong, China. Under construction, 2012-2015.

Industrial project: Reactor for liquid phase hydrocracking of heavy oil (1.5 Mt/a), Shandong Yuhuang chemical (group) Co., Ltd. Shandong, China. Under design, 2013-2016.
