从事生物育种技术及装备方面等科研教学工作,发表论文270余篇,编著英文专著1部,发明专利80余项。2014以来连续入选爱斯唯尔高被引学者。多项技术已成功进入工业应用。作为清华-东工大等多个研究生联合培养项目负责人,为国际化教育发展做出贡献。

以整合生物技术为研究方向,为工业生物技术和环境生物工程提供核心技术和工艺,具体包括:工业生物催化、合成生物学、微生物代谢工程、生物纳米技术
