主要研究领域是分离工程。近期研究重点是计算流体力学在化工中的应用、流体混合、萃取设备的强化等。曾获2003年度中国石油和化学工业协会科技进步二等奖(第二完成人)、2004年度中国石油和化学工业协会科技进步一等奖(第一完成人)和2008年度教育部自然科学一等奖(第4万成人)。参加了国家自然科学基金重大项目“传质分离过程和化学反应工程”子课题(29290500)的研究;作为骨干研究人员参加了国家自然科学基金重点项目“液液萃取分离技术基础性研究”(298366130);作为负责人完成了国家自然科学基金面上项目“预分散溶剂萃取研究”(29676021)、国家863项目“化工反应过程强化-超重力反应强化工程化技术”(2006AA030202)子课题“超重力旋转填料床内多相流动的计算流体力学模拟”和863项目“烟气CO2吸收分离的分子设计和过程强化”(2006AA05Z316)、国家自然科学基金重点项目“海水法燃煤烟气脱硫的过程强化研究”(20836008)、973项目“稀土资源高效利用和绿色分离的科学基础”课题3“新型高效萃取设备的设计模拟与过程强化”研究。目前作为负责人承担国家自然科学基金重点项目“利用流场结构界面失稳强化与调控流体混沌混合的机制 ”(21636004)。在国内外学术期刊及会议上发表论文200余篇。
