长期从事化工过程安全理论和方法研究。综合运用化学工程基本原理与大数据技术和人工智能技术,发展化工安全新理论、新方法与新工具,促进化工安全智能化发展。在Computers & Chemical Engineering,Process safety and Environmental Protection, Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries、化工学报等国内外学术期刊发表论文120余篇,出版专著5部,教材1部,公开和授权发明专利10余项。目前担任清华大学化工系过程系统工程研究所所长、工业大数据系统与应用北京市重点实验室副主任。他是国务院安委会危险化学品安全专业委员会专家组成员,国家生态环境部第一届生态环境应急专家组成员,北京市安全生产领域学科带头人。
